How much do you know about LED lighting? Know how to choose Correlated color temperature?

High-quality LED bulbs last longer, are more durable, and provide light quality that is equal to or better than other types of lighting.

LED lighting is significantly different from other light sources such as incandescent bulbs and CFLs. The main differences include the following:

Light Source: LEDs are about the size of peppercorns, typically using a mix of red, green, and blue LEDs to emit white light.

Direction: LEDs emit light in specific directions, reducing the need for reflectors and diffusers to capture the light. This feature makes LEDs more efficient in many uses, such as recessed downlights and task lighting. With other types of lighting, the light must be reflected in the desired direction, and more than half of the light may never leave the fixture.

Heat: LEDs emit very little heat. By comparison, incandescent light bulbs release 90% of their energy as heat, and compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs) release about 80% of their energy as heat.

The high efficiency and directionality of LEDs make them ideal for many industrial and commercial uses.

LEDs are increasingly common in street lights, parking lot lighting, walkway and other outdoor area lighting, reefer lighting, modular lighting and task lighting.

LED lights are 80% more efficient than traditional lighting such as fluorescent and incandescent lights. 95% of the energy in an LED is converted into light and only 5% is wasted as heat.

Understanding the color of light, also known as the Kelvin temperature (K), can make it easier for you to choose lighting that will provide the effect you want. Some LED products are available in a variety of colors, and the color you choose will determine the mood of your space.
